ST. THOMAS – The Department of Public Works (DPW) has commenced a guard rail installation project in the Nazareth area of St. Thomas. The project scope includes the installation of 1,000 linear feet of guardrail on the eastern side of Benner Hill Road. The traffic flow may be minimally impacted with the implementation of temporary traffic controls to guide motorists safely around the work site. See attached photos.
The project officially mobilized last week and is scheduled to be completed by June 13. The contractor, LEBG, is in the initial phase of work; preparing for the installation of the steel posts. This project is funded through the District Road Fund at the cost of $139,000. The department is urging motorists and pedestrians to adhere to all safety controls and directives from on-site flaggers.
