MAIN STREET REVITALIZATION PROJECT UPDATE No Thru-Traffic between Raadets Gade and Main Street
ST. THOMAS – As progress on the Main Street Revitalization Project continues, it has become necessary to temporarily restrict access between Main Street and Raadets Gade. This closure will facilitate the installation of a new sewer main and drainage, continuation of utility conduits, irrigation pipes, streetlight foundations, demo asphalt, concrete base slab, as well as subgrade excavation.
Starting Wed., Aug. 7, vehicular traffic will not be allowed to access Main Street via the main entrance heading west at Cardow Jewelers. However, motorists will have northbound and southbound access to Garden Street – as they will be able to turn right at the entrance of Main Street, as indicated in the attached diagram. Access to Nye Gade from Main Street will also be closed for roadwork demolition. During this detour, parking on Main Street will not be allowed. Temporary parking will be accessible for deliveries only. Concrete barricades will be placed at the entrance of Main Street and Nye Gade restricting access
Motorists will continue to have access to Main Street entering at the Enid Baa Public Library heading east. Motorists traveling from Guttets Gade (First Bank Road) will be allowed to turn right onto Main Street and head east up until Raadets Gade.
