ST. CROIX – The Department of Public Works would like to inform the motoring public of a pending road closure slated to begin next week on St. Croix. The closure will allow workmen to connect utilities for the Limetree Bay Village project.
Route 681, also known as Hess Road, will be temporarily closed to thru traffic beginning Monday, October 1. The closure, which is expected to last less than a week, will affect southbound and northbound traffic between Sunny Isles and Lime Tree Bay Terminal. Local traffic to businesses in the Castle Coakley Industrial Park, as well as adjacent residential neighborhoods will be allowed. Drivers will be detoured to Route 24 in Castle Coakley to Centerline Road, then East towards Peters Rest near the Cool Out bar.
The department will keep you updated on any changes to this traffic plan that may arise. Follow DPW on Facebook @usvidpw to stay abreast of all things V.I. Public Works.
