The Department of Public Works is advising the community of continued roadwork on Route 104, near the Starfish Market on St. John. The current westbound lane closure will continue for approximately two weeks. During that time, the contractor - Island Roads Corporation, will finalize work on the lane and place the concrete surface. The lane is expected to reopen on December 11. Work on the eastbound lane will resume in early 2022, in conjunction with the V.I. Water and Power Authority's undergrounding project. Motorists and pedestrians are urged to proceed with extreme caution and adhere to all safety controls and directives from on-site flaggers.
The Department of Public Works appreciates the community's patience as they work to improve road conditions throughout the territory.
