Smith Bay Road Work

ROAD WORK ON SMITH BAY ROAD SCHEDULED FOR THIS WEEK

In an ongoing effort to make roads passable due to the damage caused by hurricanes Irma and Maria, the Department of Public Works will continue with road repairs this week.

Starting Monday, November 20, at 8:30 a.m., road crews will work on Smith Bay Road in the area adjacent to the Margaritaville entrance. A vacuum truck will be used to unclog the nearby drainage system, which will alleviate the excessive flooding of the roadway. Once that work is completed, crews will fill holes with aggregate as a temporary resolution until a permanent fix is in place. Traffic flow will be reduced to one lane and work is expected to continue throughout the week.

The Department of Public Works appreciates the community's patience as they work to restore our road conditions.
