ST. THOMAS – The V.I. Department of Public Works is happy to report on the advancements in the rehabilitation of VITRAN's Operations and Maintenance Facility on St. Thomas.
The contractor, APEX Construction, is making steady progress towards the Aug. 23 completion date. Most of the work to date has focused on concrete pours for the foundation, roof and side walls. Paving of the concrete driveway and parking lot, as well as, the construction of the bus wash pavilion is now underway.
This federally funded rehabilitation project consists of a new bus wash pavilion, the removal of an existing chain link fence with replacement of cantilever fencing, a new main entrance, the installation of an oil and water separator, redesigning the internal traffic flow, the construction of a concrete driveway, parking lot paving and lastly the installation of a new light pole.
