The Department of Public Works (DPW) informs the community of an upcoming road closure on a segment of Kronprindsens Gade in St. Thomas. Starting on Thursday, June 19, DPW’s contractor -- Island Roads Corp. -- will commence milling of the roadway, followed immediately by paving. The project is expected to be completed by Thursday, June 26, 2025.
During work hours:
*Northbound traffic from Maduro Drive onto Kronprindsens Gade will be detoured via Kronprindsens Tväer Gade to Horace Callwood Drive.
*Westbound traffic will not be permitted through Horace Callwood Drive (see map for details).

THOMAS, U.S. VIRGIN ISLANDS (June 11, 2025) — The Virgin Islands Water and Power Authority (“WAPA” or “the Authority”) advises the public of a temporary road closure on Pilgrim Terrace Bypass (Route 35) scheduled to begin tomorrow, Thursday, June 12, 2025, through Thursday, July 3, 2025, between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. The closure will impact the following areas: • Catherineberg Road • Mannassah Hill Road The closure is necessary to allow WAPA contractors, Haughland VI, to safely perform critical work as part of the Feeder 13 electrical infrastructure project. This project is a vital component of WAPA’s continued efforts to strengthen grid reliability.
Motorists are urged to plan alternate routes, follow posted detours, and exercise caution when traveling near the work zones. WAPA appreciates the public’s patience and cooperation.

Starting Saturday, June 14, DPW contractor -- Rumina Construction LLC. -- will begin reconstruction of a collapsed retaining wall. Gabion baskets will be used for this repair. Work will also include repairs to the concrete roadway. This project is scheduled for completion by Friday, September 5, 2025.
Motorists should expect delays and are encouraged to use alternate routes and follow detours while work is in progress.
