The Department of Public Works (DPW) is advising the community of an emergency road closure on the Melvin Evans Highway. Department personnel recognized an 8 inch circular cavity about 400 ft. East of the Estate Profit Intersection – near the Captain Morgan / DIAGEO Rum Distillery. DPW crews are working with VIPD to place barricades and channel sticks to redirect traffic. DPW engineers will begin assessing the roadway opening on Friday. Motorists are asked to traverse the area with extreme caution.
